Learn for a lifetime.
The Genius Framework
At Genius we strive to be the best. That is why we have built a unique framework that is guided by the Early Years Learning Framework and influenced by universal concepts that inspire our children. The Genius Framework is built on three key pillars:
Genius Philosophy
Our philosophy is strongly based on sociocultural theory that building strong, authentic and respectful relationships with each child and their family is vital to truly understand and support their learning journey.
The Genius Philosophy looks to combine ideas and concepts from around the globe into one clear and concise framework that will ultimately yield the best results for your child.
Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
The Early Years Learning Framework looks to enrich children’s learning and ease their transition to school. The EYLF draws on conclusive international evidence that early childhood is a pivotal period in children’s learning and development. The Framework targets five key learning outcomes that are designed to capture the integrated and complex learning and development of all children.
- Children have a strong sense of identity
- Children are connected with and contribute to their world
- Children have a strong sense of wellbeing
- Children are confident and involved learners
- Children are effective communicators
Genius Key Learning Areas
Our key learning areas form the foundation of our curriculum at Genius and are designed to support our educators in developing an effective learning environment. We want to provide a range of learning opportunities to enhance children’s learning in all age groups, both indoors and outdoors.
We are intentional about our interactions, language, conversations, teaching practice and relationships with children, and have developed the following areas:
Genius Curriculum
Lifeskills™
The Genius Lifeskills™ Program leads Genius children through a series of important building blocks of development that will be relevant throughout their lives.
The following skills are intended to form a strong foundation for lifelong and learning and help children become positive citizens in our society:
- Garden Guru Program
- Sports Program
- Wellness Program (RISE)
- Creative Arts
- Music & Movement
- Nutritional Ninja
- Library Program

Genius Sports
Our Sports Program takes place over a calendar year and invites a child to indoor and outdoor expeditions that flourish their mind, body and spirit.
To further reinforce our commitment to providing children with the highest quality care, we have partnered with several high profile national and local sporting clubs, including St Kilda FC. Through these partnerships we expose our children to a wealth of talent, resources and programs that develop their passion for teamwork, leadership and camaraderie.

Nutrition
At Genius, we believe that nutrition plays a vital role in looking after our children’s wellbeing, and that a strong sense of wellbeing is fundamentally connected to their sense of belonging, being and becoming. Our menus are created and assessed through Nutrition Australia, in line with National Quality Standards and the Australian Dietary Guidelines.
Each centre has their own in-house professional chef, who is adept at creating well balanced meals that cater to a range of tastes, allergies, intolerances and eating styles!
Xplor
Xplor is Genius’ management and parent communication portal, developed specifically for childcare services to enhance communication, service quality and parent experience. All of our important info is captured on Xplor – from enrolment, key centre contacts and check in/check out details through to live updates on your child’s activities each day. We do this so that you know your child is safe and happy during their time with us, with rigorous records kept and plenty of beautiful memories captured.

Those that arrive at the centre before 8am gather together for a nutritional breakfast consisting of our morning favourites: toast, cereal, and porridge!
All of our children share in a group Acknowledgement of Country before engaging with their friends, exploring their environment as well as getting involved in all the special experiences our educators have carefully organised for them that day.
Children move back to their own rooms as we welcome all of our friends arriving at the centre and gather information about the children’s daily needs.
Our morning tea ritual is to connect, sing songs, count and spend time with one another as we delve into the delicious selection of seasonal fresh fruit that has been lovingly prepared for us by our in-house chef.
Our Genius Key Learning Areas are explored by our curious and enthusiastic children, who are eager to touch, play, bang, laugh, smile, hold and discover more about the world around them. We love fostering lifelong learners!
Lunchtime provides the opportunity to spend time engaging with the children in a way that is calm and meaningful. Our menu is a delicious, nutritious rotating menu that includes all the essential grains and proteins!
Our baby rooms are purposely built with a safe sleep space for your little ones who will be provided with the utmost care and supervision throughout this quiet time.
It's time to power up after nap time! Children enjoy a healthy and delicious afternoon tea to get them through their next activities with renewed energy and focus.
Children have the opportunity to partake in our Lifeskills™ program once more, this time putting their culinary skills to the test!
We begin to say goodbye to some of our friends and slowly start family grouping with the other rooms in the centre as children leave. A nutritional late snack is provided to the children who are still in attendance as another lovely day comes to an end.

Our life skills Nutritional Ninja program begins as the children assist in preparing and serving fresh fruit for themselves and others within the room.
Excitement fills the air as the children begin to engage in the exhilarating programs that we have on offer including our robotics program – a hands on learning experience exposing the children to technologies, coding and logical processing.
This is a time of connection and reflection on the events of the day. It is an experience that is enjoyed by both adults and children where we can come together, slow down and delight in the company of each other over a delicious meal!
Intentional time is taken in the day to assist in the children’s language and literacy development. We provide the resources for children to read, write, speak and listen, solve problems, count and create!
The children are encouraged in their independence and enjoy serving their own afternoon tea – our delicious fruit muffins are a crowd favourite!
Under the guidance of our qualified educators the children immerse themselves in our Sports Program as they run, kick, throw and catch!

Genius at every stage.
0-2 years
The first 1000 days of life – the time roughly between conception and a child’s second birthday – is a window of unique opportunity when an individual’s optimal health, growth and learning pathways are established.
At Genius we are honoured to guide your children through these key early years, and our focus is to help them develop their skills holistically. We provide children with a range of resources and experiences which give them the opportunity to become lifelong independent learners.
2-3 years
At this age our key focus at Genius is on developing language and communication skills and introducing the children to self-care: starting to put on their own clothes, potty training, hand washing and self-feeding, along with many other life skills.
Our educators encourage children to exert their independence where they can, promote peer interaction and role model positive social interactions through all of our valuable routines and rituals.
4-5 years
Between the ages of 4 and 5 children are becoming readers, writers, counters and collaborators. We continue to use the Early Years Learning Framework developmental milestones to provide structure to our activities and learning through play, whilst beginning to focus on the preparation for school and journey outside of the classroom.
Our ground-breaking Kindergarten Program is an engaging educational and wellness program that will guide your child to becoming an independent, resilient, and self-confident member of our ever-changing community.
